The World Health Organization (WHO) announced that it is actively working on a new “digital wallet” system where people who agree to get jabbed can store their Wuhan coronavirus (Covid-19) “vaccine” certificates.
Dr. Michael Ryan, an Irish epidemiologist who is heading up the program, told listeners at a July 12 gathering in Geneva, Switzerland, that countries will soon have the ability to opt in to the international program, which will function in a 1930s “papers, please” format, but this time on a global scale.
“We have encouraged countries that want to, they may use the international certificate for vaccination and prophylaxis … that requires other countries to recognize that certificate of vaccination,” Ryan explained.
Ryan added that the WHO is also “working to increase the distribution of the paper versions of its international certificate of vaccination prophylaxis, and also developing a digital wallet that could be used for the same purpose.”
Individual nations that choose to generate their own digital vaccination certificates will be able to blend them together with those of other nations using “detailed data standards.”
“But that does not get around the policy issues around which vaccines are recognized within that system that is essentially an international policy issue between countries,” Ryan further detailed.
Though Ryan did not specifically address it, many worry that the new system will be used by the WHO to force Fauci Flu shots as a condition of international travel. Many countries could individually attempt to force the injections as well, which is of great concern.
Civil liberties and human rights groups are also decrying the WHO’s proposal, warning that any form of “vaccine passport” is a clear violation of personal privacy and the right to bodily autonomy.
Some Republican lawmakers have also warned that vaccine passports would create a two-tiered society in which the jabbed are afforded special privileges not available to the un-jabbed, including access to essential services like medical care.
The American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) wrote a blog post warning that there is “a lot that can go wrong” with vaccine passports.
“It’s likely that such requests will become over-used as people get asked for credentials at every turn,” the group said back in March.
“While there are legitimate circumstances in which people can be asked for proof of vaccination, we don’t want to turn into a checkpoint society that outlasts the danger of COVID and that casually excludes people without credentials from facilities where vaccine mandates are not highly justified.”
A few states, including Florida and Texas, have passed laws or issued executive orders prohibiting vaccine passports at the state and local levels. Florida has specifically outlawed their use at private businesses.
The White House, meanwhile, has been dubious in its position on vaccine passports. While the regime itself says it is not pushing for a federal vaccine passport mandate, the suggestion from White House press secretary Jen Psaki is that the regime may support state and local vaccine passport edicts.
“That’s not currently the role of the federal government,” Psaki told reporters during a recent press conference.
“There are a number of private sector entities, universities, institutions, that are starting to mandate, and that’s an innovative step that they will take and they should take. That’s not – and we’re not taking issue with that.”
One Epoch Times commenter who claims to not even be a Christian noted that all of this talk about vaccine passports sure does “look very much like the ‘mark of the beast.'” This writer certainly agrees with that sentiment.
